Highland Elementary School PTO works together with the public and educators to provide opportunities for every child’s physical, mental, social, and educational needs. We are passionate about creating a supportive environment where every child can thrive and be their best selves.
The Highland Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is a dedicated group of parents, teachers, and community members working to make our students' school experience even better. As part of West Shore School District in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, we foster an engaged and inclusive school community through fun events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities.
Our PTO is involved in a variety of activities and events designed to benefit our students, staff, and community. Some of our key projects include:
Student Field Trips: We provide resources for fun and educational field trips for each grade level at Highland.
Student Activities: Students benefit from PTO-sponsored activities throughout the year like RIF (Reading is Fundamental), Classics Day, and special assemblies.
Community Events: We aim to build community at Highland by hosting events for the whole family like Bingo, skate night, and the Talent Show.
Fundraising: A small portion of our funds go to managing our two largest annual fundraisers, Walkathon and Race to Reading. We rely on donations from Highland families to ensure the above activities and events are successful for our students and community.
We rely on the time, talents, and resources of families and community members to make a difference at Highland Elementary School. Whether you have a few hours a week or an occasional afternoon to spare, your involvement is invaluable. Here are some ways you can participate:
Volunteer: Lend a hand at our events or join one of our committees.
Attend Meetings: Our PTO meeting take place the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Come share your ideas and stay informed about what's happening at our school.
